Collection: Marine Hardware - Cleats

A cleat is a tie-down point or securing device mounted to the deck of a sailboat.  Cleats secure lines for rigging and docking.  Cleats should be installed at regular intervals on the side of your boat. Minimum you  should have at least three cleats on both sides of your boat. When you are docking your boat secure one end of the rope to a cleat on the bow, then do the same for the stern. Once that is done pull your boat in tight and tie each line to a cleat on the dock.
